Brussels, 29/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Commissioner for Trade, Pascal Lamy, on Friday defended the proposal of 230 EUR/tonne which the European Commission put on the table this week for the import tariff for bananas onto the EU market as of 1 January 2006.
