Commission authorises co-existence of "Munster, Munster Géromé and Münster Käse" cheeses

Brussels, 26/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - A European Commission regulation of 22 October 2004 has authorised the co-existence for "Munster and Munster Géromé" cheeses (produced in the French valley region of the Vosges) and the German "Münster Käse" cheese for a period fifteen years. The two kinds of Munster from the Vosges get their name from the Munster area in Alsace. They have benefited from protected designation of origin since 1969 in France and at a European level since 1996. The...
