26/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - During an official ceremony on 25 October in Lisbon, the Council of Europe's North South Prize was awarded to writer and psychiatrist Nawal El Saadawi and the French Ambassador to the UN, Stéphane Hessel. Those attending the ceremony included the president of the Parliamentary Assembly Peter Schieder and the Deputy Secretary General of the pan-European organisation, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.
