ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) advertising

British WPP is to acquire the American agency GREY GLOBAL (turnover $1.3 billion in 2003), the seventh largest advertising company, for a total of $1.52 billion in cash and shares, ahead of French HAVAS. The acquisition will allow WPP to reach an annual turnover of around $8.8 billion (on the basis of the 2003 financial period of the two groups).
