GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/competition

14/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the planned acquisition of 80% of Italian insurance company Claris Vita by Austria's Uniqa Versicherung AG. Claris Vita is only present on the Italian life insurance market and most of Uniqa's business is in Austria so there are no competition concerns. The deal was approved used the simplified procedures.
