14/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - According to estimates published by Eurostat on 14 September, production in the construction sector was down by 0.9% in the euro-zone in the second quarter of 2004 compared to the first quarter of 2004, and by 0.8% in the EU25. In the first quarter of 2004, production decreased by 0.2% in the euro-zone, but rose by 0.3% in the EU25. Compared to the second quarter of 2003, output in the second quarter of 2004 fell by 1.2% in the euro-zone, but rose by 0.2% in the EU25, after rising by +1.0% and +3.5% respectively in the first quarter of 2004.
