Results in Latvia, protests from European Free Alliance and Greens after "recount" of vote in Spain

Brussels, 01/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - In Latvia, extremists and nationalists won the European elections on 12 June at the end of a campaign entirely focused on issues of language and the Russian-speaking minority. The definitive votes are as follows with the names of the nine new Latvian MEPs:

TB/LNNK (far right): 4 MEPs: - Guntars Krasts; - Girts Valdis Kristovskis; - Roberts Zile; - Inese Vaidere

Jaunais Laiks (centre-right): 2 MEPs: Vladis Dombrovskis and Aldis Kuskis
