01/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission regulation on the opening up, for the period 1 July - 28 February 2005 for tariff quotas on preferential imports of cane sugar from ACP countries and India were published in Official Journal L232 on 1 July 2004. The sugar quota from ACP counties rises to 138,000 tonnes and that for sugar from India is 10,000. Customs duties have bee set at zero and the minimum purchase price for Community refineries is EUR 49.68 per kilo of raw sugar.
