Liberals may request postponement of vote on Barroso by "at least a week"

Brussels, 01/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Liberal group at the European Parliament are planning on postponing the vote at the European Parliament on the approval of José Manuel Durao Barroso as president of the European Commission, asserted a press statement from Graham Watson. "We need more time to get to know the candidate, who is still relatively unknown in European Union circles" he said, adding that the ELDR group would invite the president elect, "at the first possible opportunity to discuss his goats and ambitions and his vision for the new enlarged European Union" EUROPE yesterday p 8 on reservations from the Socialist group).
