Solana welcomes recent development in Georgia

Brussels, 06/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Following the resignation and exile of Aslan Abachidzé, the rebel leader of the autonomous republic of Adjara in Georgia, Javier Solana, EU High Representative for CFSP made the following declaration, "I welcome the recent development in Adjara and I trust that this will hopefully lead to the resumption of normal life and stability in the region.
