French and Italian wines come together to counter flood of "new world" products

Brussels, 06/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Major cooperatives of French and Italian wines have decided to pool their strength to counter the growing influence of Australian, American and South African products. Val d'Orbieu, France's second-largest wine producer, and Caviro, the number one wine producer in Italy, announced in Brussels on Wednesday that they have signed a strategic partnership agreement with a view above all to conquering new export markets.
