06/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - According to the first estimates out on 5 May, in March 2004, compared to March 2003, the volume of retail trade increased by 0.9% in the euro-zone and by 2.6% in the EU25. Compared to February 20044, the sales index fell by 0.2% in the euro-zone but rose by 0.1% in the EU25. This is the first time that the Statistical Office of the European Communities has published date on retail in the enlarged Union.
