Planning cell for EU civilian and military operations expected to be operational in second half of year

Brussels, 06/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Union's planning cell for civilian and military operations is expected to be operational at the beginning of the second half of the year. This was announced by Javier Solana EU High Representative for CFSP on Tuesday during a press conference concluding the informal defence ministers' meeting on 5-6 April. The Council is expected to make a formal decision setting up this planning cell before the end of June.
