The EP's economic and monetary committee have approved the appointment of Mr Gonzalez-Paramon to the ECB board of governors

Brussels, 06/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - The economic and monetary committee at the European Parliament approved on Tuesday by 11 votes, 2 against with 2 abstentions, the appointment of José Manuel Gonzalez to the board of governors tat the European Central Bank (ECB). Philippe Herzog (GUE/NGL, France) and Alain Lipietz (Greens/EFA, France), were the two MEPs opposing this candidacy.
