Eurocities says Lisbon objectives can only be attained by greater involvement of large cities

Brussels, 25/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a letter addressed to Heads of State and governments of the enlarged Europe, relating to the Brussels Summit, the network of major European cities, Eurocities sent the following message, "the ambitious objectives defined in the strategy of Lisbon, in terms of economic competitiveness, employment, social integration and sustainable development, can only be attained with the active involvement of the cities".
