Pat Cox, to receive Charlemagne Prize on 20 May, attends award ceremony of extraordinary Charlemagne Prize to Pope at Vatican

Brussels, 25/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The President of the European Parliament, Pat Cox, will be awarded the Charlemagne Prize in Aix-la-Chapelle on 20 May, in recognition of his contribution to European integration and to the EU's "historical" enlargement on 1 May, according to a press release.

This year, an extraordinary Charlemagne Prize has also been awarded to Pope John Paul II, for a life devoted "the service of humanity and world peace", states the same press release. President Cox...
