Brussels, 10/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption in Strasbourg on Wednesday (287 votes in favour, 194 against and 23 abstentions), the report by Swedish Liberal Marit Paulsen on the strengthening and harmonisation in the EU of official controls on animal feed and foodstuffs, the European Parliament has opened the way for the rapid adoption of a regulation which it feels represents "a decisive step towards safer food in Europe".
