Commission gives green light to French scheme to control pollution of agricultural origin

Brussels, 19/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 18 February, the European Commission adopted a final positive decision on the "PMPOA" (programme to control pollution of agricultural origin), implemented by France from 1994 to 2000. This regime of investment aid, which was investigated under State aid rules, aimed to allow French farmers to adapt their equipment and working practices for better environmental protection, especially water protection.
