Law allows Turkish Cypriots to take part in elections

Brussels, 03/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the parliament of the Republic of Cyprus adopted a law that will allow Greek and Turkish Cypriots to take part in the European elections of June 2004. Turkish Cypriots will have to go to voting stations in the south of the island on 13 June and present their Republic of Cyprus identity cards. Around 100,000 Turkish Cypriots possess an identity card. Cyprus has six seats at the European Parliament.
