Brussels, 03/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - During a conference organised on Monday in Prague, Commissioner Pedro Solbes stressed once again that the European Exchange Rate Mechanism should not be considered as a "waiting room" pending adoption of the euro, but rather as a tool allowing Member States to implement sound economic and monetary policies that foster price and exchange rate stability.
