03/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Irish presidency of the Council of the EU has sent a message to the International Court of Justice in The Hague indicating that the Union is opposed to taking legal action (demanded by the Palestinian Authority) against the separation wall built by Israel on which the Council is expected to reach a decision on 23 February. The Irish presidency reiterates at the same time the EU's opposition to the Israeli initiative (EUROPE yesterday p 5).
