03/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 5 February in Katowice the Commission consultative des mutations industrielles (CCMI) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Polish employers, workers, consumers, business, coal sector representatives will be meeting for an informal meeting to discuss problems posed by the restructuring of the Polish coal industry. These problems will be analysed economically and socially in relation to environmental protection and sustainable development. The CCMI was incorporated into the EESC following the expiry of the ECSC treaty of July 2002. Its work programme mainly focuses on the transformation of the industry in the new Member States.
