Brussels, 03/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Council of the EU ratified the agreement on the "single European sky" legislative package by written procedure on Monday. The Council and Parliament reached an agreement on 9 December as part of a conciliation procedure, on what was judged to be "balanced" by both parties. During the plenary session in Brussels on 29 January (EUROPE 30 January p 8) parliament approved the agreement. Once in force, following their publication in the Official Journal, the four regulations making up the legislative package will allow for the setting up of an integrated European airspace on 31 December 2004.
