6.5 million euros for disaster preparedness in countries at risk

Brussels, 30/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved two new disaster preparedness action plans financed by Echo (European Community Humanitarian Office) under the DIPECHO programme. The first plan, for 4 million euros is for the people of the Andean Community (Bolivia, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela). The second, at 2.5 million euros, is for vulnerable populations in South Asia. Funds support training, capacity-building, awareness-raising, and early-warning...
