Commission to decide next week at Court if it is to oppose suspension of proceedings against Paris and Berlin

Brussels, 07/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Ecofin ministers acted illegally on 24 November when the halted disciplinary proceedings against France and Germany for excessive deficits. This is the conclusion of the Opinion provided on Tuesday evening by the European Commission legal service on the affair (and for which the Commission is refusing to communicate what exactly was said).
