Giorgio Napolitano will not be running for European elections (and considers Romano Prodi should not do so either) - Call to break deadlock on European Constitution

Brussels, 07/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Giorgio Napolitano, Chair of the European Parliament's constitutional committee, will not be a candidate for European elections in June 2004. He announced his decision in an interview with Corriere della Sera on Wednesday, giving his assurance that his European commitment would not fail in the future. He did have one regret, however.
