Legislative proposals for reform of Mediterranean sectors and aid regime to hops producers

Brussels, 18/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the European Commission adopted legislative proposals to reform the three "Mediterranean" product sectors (tobacco, olive oil, cotton), and the aid regime for hops producers. These proposals, which subscribe to the logic of decisions taken in June in the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), plan the total decoupling of aid to tobacco (in three phases) and hops, and the partial decoupling for olive oil and cotton.
