18/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - During the opening of the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Monday, Finnish Liberal Astrid Thors once again (having already done so in March 2002) challenged the European Commission about Romany women being forcibly sterilised in Slovakia. She stressed that the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights had conducted an investigation of the problem in the meantime.
