Brussels, 18/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday Eurostat, reported that inflation fell from 2.2% in September to 2.0% in October 2003.EU15 annual inflation fell from 2.0% in September to 1.8% in October 20032. A year earlier the rate was 2.1%.EEA annual inflation was 1.8% in October 20032. In October, the highest annual rates were recorded in Ireland (3.3%), Italy and Portugal (both 2.8%) and Spain (2.7%); the lowest rates were observed in Finland (0.9%), Austria (1.0%), Denmark and Germany (both 1.1%). Compared with September 2003, annual inflation fell in eleven Member States and remained stable in two. Compared with October 2002, the biggest relative falls were in Denmark (2.7% to 1.1%), Finland (1.7% to 0.9%), and the Netherlands (3.5% to 1.9%) and the biggest relative rises were in France (1.9% to 2.3%), Sweden (1.7% to 2.0%) and Belgium (1.3% to 1.4%).
