Commission advises Germany to take measures to remedy excessive deficit by 2005 at latest

Brussels, 18/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament decided on Tuesday in Strasbourg to continue its excessive deficit proceedings against Germany, adopting two recommendations to be examined by the Economy and Finance Minister of the Member States of the EU on 24 and 25 November. The Commission decided to give Germany an extra year to correct its excessive deficit, as it proposed in the case of France.
