Commission to submit to Monday's Standing Committee on Food a request for authorising genetically modified maize - little likelihood of a vote

Brussels, 07/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the Commission will submit to Member States meeting within the regulatory committee on the food chain, a proposal aimed at authorising the marketing within the Union of genetically modified sweet corn intended for feed and food, but not for crop growing.
