Brussels, 07/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - A packed agenda is awaiting the Commission, which will hold its weekly meeting next Tuesday, exceptionally. It is to adopt its final report on the growth initiative with a view to the December European Council, which, according to a spokesperson, contains a "list of rapid actions". It will also approve a communication by Commissioner Vitorino on the creation of a European agency to control the EU's external borders, and the White Paper on the implementation of the European Space Policy, to be submitted by Commissioner Busquin. The Commission will also adopt a proposed regulation on set-aside, presented by Franz Fischler, and a communication by Viviane Reding on improving education and training under the Lisbon process. Lastly, it will look at whether an Italian law on the information to be provided by premier league clubs is in line with Community law, in order to determine whether it runs counter to European texts on accountancy and thus decide whether or not to open an inquiry (see also p.9).
