Brussels, 05/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday Italy and France requested the Commission to include in the list of priority projects for the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) the railway project linking Lyon and Turin. Quoting a press stamen from the Presidency, AFP indicates that this demand was formulated in a letter from Berlusconi and Raffarin to Romano Prodi. In their letter, Berlusconi and Raffarin say that they are confident "of the support of the Commission for a project that would contribute to the relaunch of economic growth on the European continent". On 1 October the Commission presented its draft decision revising Community orientations for TEN-T (EUROPE 2 October p 6) and 10 October p 10), which should be approved in December by the European Council.
