In September, the rate of unemployment in euro zone and EU15 remains stable at 8.8%

Brussels, 05/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The rate of unemployment in the euro zone remained unchanged in September compared to August, at 8.8% of the active population, according to seasonally adjusted data published on Wednesday by Eurostat. In the European Union as a whole (EU15), the rate of unemployment also remains unchanged at 8%.

The lowest unemployment rates in September were recorded in Luxembourg (3.8%), the Netherlands (4.2%), Austria (4.5%) and Ireland (4.7%). Spain still had the...
