Brussels, 23/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and the Chinese government have just launched a co-operation programme in the field of information technology, based around the development of the "digital Olympic Games". This programme, which comes under the existing scientific and technological co-operation, is governed by a joint working group, made up of the European Commission, MOST, the municipality of Beijing, and the Organising Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG). Eleven short-term co-operation projects have already been chosen and, according to the organisers, the European operators should find "significant" opportunities to improve their access to the Chinese IT market, which is in the ascendant.
