Parliament accepts extension of reduced excise rate on tobacco for Corsica

Strasbourg, 22/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption, by an overwhelming majority (452 votes in favour, 35 against and 22 abstentions), of the report by British Conservative John Purvis, the EP (which was only consulted on the issue) has accepted the prolongation until 31 December 2009 of the application of a reduced rate of excise on tobacco products for consumption in Corsica.
