France obliged to make high-level public service posts accessible to civil servants from other Member States

Luxembourg, 15/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has just returned its Burbaud ruling, in which it forces France to find ways to integrate civil servants from other Member States into French public service.

Isabel Burbaud, high-ranking official in a Portuguese hospital for seven years, refused to sit the entrance test for the French National School of Public Health in Rennes, saying that her qualifications and experience in Portuguese hospitals were equivalent.
