Negotiations with Liechtenstein on savings tax are deadlocked

Stresa, 15/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Negotiations with Liechtenstein on savings tax are still marking time, Commissioner Frits Bolkestein said during the informal meeting of European Finance Ministers this weekend in Stresa. The aim is to reach an agreement so that measures "equivalent" to that implemented in the context of the European directive on savings tax are adopted, according to the model of the agreement concluded with Switzerland.
