Brussels, 02/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has proposed that the Council of the Union impose an embargo on the supply of arms and weaponry equipment, as well as any assistance, advice or military training to armed groups and militia operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The proposed regulation to this end, which it has just submitted to the Council, will implement the UN Security Council's Resolution 1493, which was adopted on 28 July.
