02/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Slovenia threatened on Monday not to support Croatia's application to join the EU, if Croatia sticks to its project of proclaiming two exclusive economic zones in the Adriatic Sea, together with Italy, says the news agency AFP. Slovenia is concerned that it will be cut off from its direct access to the international waters of the southern Adriatic. Croatia officially applied to become a member of the European Union on 21 February (see EUROPE of 22 February).
