Commission provides EUR 31 million to promote human rights and democracy in the world

Brussels, 02/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission will this year make available 31 million euros to fund 51 projects to support human rights, good governance, and the rule of law, and to promote democracy in the world.

These projects, selected under the European initiative for democracy and human rights (EIDHR), mainly concern African countries (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Sierra Leone,...
