Brussels, 30/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved humanitarian aid of EUR 1.95 million in favour of the most vulnerable groups affected by the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir. The aid is intended for the inhabitants of the region and for internally displaced persons and is administered by ECHO, the Commission's Humanitarian Aid Office, under the responsibility of Commissioner Poul Nielson. Emphasis is placed on healthcare, psychological support and education.
