30/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Inflation in the euro zone accelerated in June to 2% annually compared to 1.9% the previous month, according to provisional figures published on Monday by Eurostat. The rate of inflation is thus exactly at the 2% tolerance level fixed by the European Central Bank (ECB). This rapid estimate is based on price evolution in three countries of the area: Germany, Italy and Belgium.
