MEPs call for action against the death penalty

Brussels, 30/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - 36 Italian MEPs from across the political divide have appealed to the President of the European Council, Silvio Berlusconi, and the President of the Council, Frattini, for the Italian Presidency to pledge to submit a resolution to the next UN General Assembly (in New York this autumn) calling for a universal moratorium on executions under the death penalty.
