30/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Following the conclusions of the international mission responsible for observing the recent legislative elections in Armenia, the Greek Presidency published a declaration on behalf of the EU whereby it regrets that the overall election process did not meet the international standards in a number of key aspects. The EU mainly points out that there was reoccurrence of falsification of vote counts, unbalanced representation in the election commissions, intimidation of proxies and a lack of transparency in the publishing of the election results. The EU recalls it is willing to help the Armenian government to remedy these failings.
