Extension of restrictions on American poultry exports due to new source of 'Newcastle' disease

Brussels, 24.04.2003 (Agence Europe) - in reaction to the emergence, on 11 April, of a new source of the so-called 'Newcastle' disease in the state of New Mexico, the Standing Committee on the food chain and animal health decided, on Wednesday, to toughen the existing measures enforcing restrictions on American poultry exports to the EU.
