Commission imposes provisionary 33% countervailing duty on 'DRAMS' imports produced by Korean Hynix semiconductor

Brussels, 24/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission decided to impose a provisional countervailing duty of 33% on DRAMS imports of (dynamic random access memories) produced by the Korean manufacturer Hynix Semiconductor. This decision follows an investigation, which revealed that Hynix enjoyed subsidies in the form of financing provided by banks held or controlled by the Korean state.
