The Commission condemns remaining obstacles to the right of EU nationals to reside in another Member State without engaging in an economic activity

Brussels, 20/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has condemned the continued existence of obstacles to the right of EU citizens and their family to reside in another Member State while not engaging in an economic activity in the Member State of reception, be they students or retired persons. In a report on the application from 1999 to 2002 of three directives which define this right, the Commission sets out the infringements sanctioned by the Court of Justice.
