Amnesty International says Bosnia Herzegovina "disappearances" must be addressed

Brussels, 06/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - In an open letter to the EU High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, Amnesty International's European office calls on the EU to pay greater attention to cases of "disappearances". An Amnesty International report published on its site, "Bosnia Herzegovina: Honouring the ghosts: Confronting impunity for disappearances" estimates that some 17,000 people have "disappeared" seven years after the end of the war in Bosnia Herzegovina.
