22/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - During the first European Convention debate on the institutions, Turkish Alternate, Oguz Demiralp, government representative, declared that the co-existence of a permanent President of the European Council and a President of the European Commission made him think of the god Janus. He explained that if the Convention kept such a mechanism, measures should be taken to allow the two Heads to see each other and look in the same direction.
